Speaker of State Duma Boris Gryzlov has welcomed the participants in ATOMEXPO 2009

In his welcoming address Gryzlov pointed out the big work Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation has done in the last years to reorganize and develop the nuclear industry. «We have created an efficient system of state and corporate management aimed at ensuring the unity of the nuclear industry under the aegis of the Government. Today, we are substantially reforming our legislation in the field of safe use of nuclear energy," Gryzlov said.

«Russia has a huge research and development complex and unique projects and technologies in the field of nuclear power engineering. This is not only a guarantee of stable production of energy on the home market but also a firm basis for successful competition on eternal markets. Russia's participation in a whole number of international projects makes it one of the leaders of the international cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy."

In the last year the Russian nuclear industry has been dynamically developing and enhancing its share in the global energy balance.

Gryzlov hopes that ATOMEXPO 2009 will become one of the key international forums on nuclear energy, will help to find optimal solutions to global problems and will pave the way for new long-term projects.
